Wenchi Municipality is set to benefit from a biscuit factory as its share of the government’s IDIF program, Dr Prince Kwakye Afiriyie, Municipal Chief Executive, has announced.
He explained that the municipality is well known for the cultivation of cashew, hence the decision of stakeholders to establish the factory where the crop would be used for the biscuit.
Speaking to the media in Wenchi, Dr. Afriyie said Kofi Apentu O Ventures, a company based in Wenchi Akrobi, which is currently into the production of tom brown for supply to some senior high schools in Bono, Ahafo and Bono East and Ashanti regions would be the first company to establish the cashew biscuit factory.
The MCE disclosed that more than 5000 students in public schools in the municipality are benefiting from the school feeding programme.
