Ahafo cocoa famers hail government interventions to boost cocoa production


Cocoa farmers in Ahafo Region have commended the government for the introduction of interventions including free cocoa seedlings, pollination, pruning and supply of fertilizer in the cocoa sector to help boost the production of the crop.

Mr Appiah Boakye Secretary of the Ahafo Cocoa Farmers Association said this in an interview with Ark FM’s Joe Pawa when the Bono and Ahafo Deputy Regional Manager of Cocoa Health and Extension Division, Mr.Abdul Majeed visited some cocoa farms in the area.

He stressed that the interventions had helped to improve their produce, stating that cocoa production in Ahafo region had increased as compared to production in previous cocoa seasons.

Mr Abdul Majeed on his part reiterated the commitment of government to help improve cocoa production in the country.
