Residents of New Dormaa in Sunyani say they have lost hope in President Akufo Addo and the NPP government due to the non fulfillment of the promise that the Sunyani-New Dormaa-Kotokrom road would be awarded on contract by the end of last October. They said the President gave the promise in his address at a durbar of chiefs and people of the area as part of his tour of the region in October. Traders at the market complained of the incessant dust that made them fall sick frequently and appealed to the Regional Minister for help. We are about to enter the dry season and the situation is bound to become more serious, they added.
They also complained about the deplorable state of access roads in the area and lack of a bus stop on the main road, saying this was the cause of frequent accidents in the area.
