Bono GPS records zero robbery cases in 2019 yuletide

The Bono Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) has stated that the command recorded zero robbery cases in the region during the yuletide.

Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, said it was the first time that the command has recorded no robbery case  during such festive season.

Speaking in an interview with Ark News he said cases of stealing during the period under review reduced drastically whilst there was no case of residential theft.

This is as a result of the measures the command in collaboration with sister security agencies implemented during the festive season, Chief Inspector Oppong added.

This comes after the Ghana Police Service under the leadership of the IGP James Oppong Boanuh on 26 November 2019 launched ‘Operation Father Christmas’ to tackle crime during the festive season.

The PRO however noted that the sterling performance of the personnel had resulted in the promotion of the large number of them. / Salomey Akosua Agyapong
