Sunyani has recorded a total of five cases of fire outbreaks since the beginning of January this year.
This shows a decrease in the incidence as compared to figures obtained in January 2019 and January 2018.
In an interview with Ark News, the Bono Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of GNFS, ADO1 Ruth Mensah Tandoh said measures had been put in place to reduce fire outbreaks in the municipality and the region at large.
She said the command had intensified public community education and also commissioned home safety educators who would go round to educate home owners and occupiers of residential properties to acquire home fire safety and home fire certificates.
ADO1 Mensah Tandoh further indicated that the command would collaborate with benevolent organizations, individuals and stakeholders in the municipality and the region to track and arrest persons who engage in prank calls.
