The Ghana Education Service chapter in Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions is set to embark on a program dubbed ‘aggressive back to school campaign” to further educate the students with essential information concerning COVID 19.
The Regional Education Director for the three regions, Dr. Peter Attefuah, disclosed that they have had consultations with heads of schools to champion this cause to help allay fear among the students.
He was speaking during the disinfection exercise embarked on by Zoomlion Ghana Limited in schools in the three regions to provide a conducive environment for safe academic work.
Dr. Attefuah explained that the aggressive back to school campaign ‘’seeks to educate the students on the coronavirus pandemic in ways that will not spark fear and panic, but rather equip them with requisite knowledge they need about the virus and how to protect themselves in school’’.
The regional director added as part of efforts to fight COVID 19 his outfit had put up measures to protect the students against contracting the virus and also to stem any spread of the virus when schools reopen.
He urged parents to provide their wards with necessary personal protective equipment including nose masks, hand sanitizers and others to prevent them from contracting the virus whilst in school.
Dr. Attefuah implored students to adhere strictly to the safety protocols outlined by government to stem the spread of the virus.
