Nkoranza Traditional Council brouhaha; kingmakers reject queen mother’s claims

Majority kingmakers in Nkoranza Traditional Council have refuted claims by the queenmother of the area, Nana Yaa Dudaa Kanin II, over the instalment of Nana Kwaku Soro as the new Omanhene.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, June 16, Nana Okofo Agyapong, Adontenhene, stated that the queenmother during the Munuwukuo festivities led an attack on some residents and Nananom at the royal mausoleum, causing injury to some of them.

Nana Dudaa Kanin had at a press conference accused the subchiefs in the area of unlawfully installing Nana Kwaku Soro as new the president of the traditional council.

In response the Adontenhene said the queen mother whose petition for an interlocutory injunction was dismissed by both at the court and the regional house of chiefs had not come to terms with the rulings.

He dismissed any decision by the chiefs to render any apology to the queen mother as the above statements made in relation to the chieftaincy issue in the traditional area were matters of fact.
