Mr Benjamin Kwarteng, headmaster of Boakye Tromo Senior High and Technical School at Duayaw Nkwanta in Tano South Municipality of Ahafo region has disclosed that the institution was finding difficulty in observing all the protocol directives issued by government as schools reopen for final year students.
According to him the school ‘does not have the capacity to accommodate all the final years students, as well as the gold track form two students, especially those who are day students and are expected to become boarders’’.
“Currently the beds and mattresses available in the schools are not sufficient enough to house all the students’’, he explained.
Mr. Kwarteng reiterated the school could not absorb all the day students in the boarding house but management was putting measures in place to meet the demands outlined by President Akufo Addo.
We are in negotiations with the traditional council to support the school with a facility that was once offered to the institution as a hostel facility but was later taken away, he said and gave assurance all arrangements had been put in place to receive the students.
The headmaster however expressed gratitude to government and Zoomlion for the disinfection exercise in schools, adding the school management would complement the gesture by providing the students with necessary equipment to prevent the students from contracting the virus.
He urged parents to provide their wards with the necessary personal protective equipment such as nose masks, hand sanitizers and others for their upkeep in school.
