The Bono Regional Director for the National Youth Authority, Fati Bamba is worried despite series of programs rolled out by her outfit, youth in the region are not taken advantage to better their lives.
According to her, such programs has been set up to help empower youth against unemployment hence the need to take advantage of them.
Madam Fati Bamba made this known on Ark FMs Mmantam Yi Kasebo as the world celebrates Youth Skill Day.
On 15 July, World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) is celebrated globally to recognize the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship and to highlight the crucial role of skilled youth in addressing current and future global challenges.
Speaking on the day and what the NYA has been doing to meet the purpose of its establishment, Madam Fati Bamba indicated that, a lot of intervention programs has been put in place within the Region to help youth to acquire skills.
She said, series of workshops have also been ongoing at various schools to complement their efforts. According to Madam Fati, the youth who took advantage of these programs have gained a lot from it and are now entrepreneurs earning from what they learnt.
She is therefore calling on all to walk into the NYA office in their respective regions to learn a trade to help curb unemployment in the country.
