Residents of Dwain and Troana, all farming communities in the Dormaa Central Municipality of Bono Region are appealing to the assembly and the Member of Parliament (MP) in the constituency to construct their road for them. According to them, since the road was graded in the year 2000, there has not been any proper reconstruction or maintenance hence its deplorable state.
Speaking to Ark FMs Constituency Watch Team when they visited the areas, the residents also expressed worry over lack of school infrastructure in such a larger community. Due to the lack of schools in the area, our reporters’ reported, teenage pregnancy is on the rise in these communities.
They also lament lack of potable water in the area and called on government to make provision of same.
The residents at Dwain have however threatened to stop the Electoral Commission from conducting the 2020 general election in the area if their concerns are not addressed immediately.
Meanwhile, efforts to get the Member of parliament for the Dormaa Central Constituency who doubles as the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu and his Municipal Chief Executive, Drissah Ouatara proven futile.
